Detangle with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb while the hair is damp and conditioned — never brush curly hair dry, it will loosen the pattern and cause frizz. Wash with a sulfate-free shampoo, follow with a moisturizing conditioner or leave-in, and scrunch rather than rub when drying. Air dry when you can, and store the bundles loosely so the curls keep their shape.
